You may remember a little while ago I showed you the collage I made and the lovebird print I purchased for Immy’s room. So I thought I would give you a little peek inside her room where they now hang.
The idea for Immy’s nursery/bedroom began with a collection of golden frames. I could visualise a wall of prints and photographs in group of mismatched, decorative, golden frames and at about 36 weeks pregnant started scouring thrift stores and market stalls in search of them. Some needed repairing and repainting and they were then filled with images I loved – beautiful papers, prints by myself and others, and favourite photographs. As Immy has grown, I have replaced some of the images to include more photographs of her with family, and, of course, the collage I made from her own artwork.
This is just one corner of the room (and a very important part of our sleep time routine) and as well as the gold frames you can see some of the Mooo removeable butterfly wall stickers which I posted about back in January (I love them and they are completely re-positionable). And you never know, one day soon I may just show you the rest of the room

Whilst I really like the things you wrote about, what kept striking me was the way the books were arranged! I love that they are organized in spine colour rather than just size! Something so simple really makes a statement to me!
I envy that you are able to decoarte a room for your child. I'm a single parent with a co-sleeping toddler and so don't have a room I can decorate in my little 1 bedroom unit… but So, SO love your ideas, simple but beautiful and yest timeless…
It looks beautiful! And I love the colour coordinated books
.
How pretty! My daughter's room is inspired by FUN. haha. And I used a color scheme from a dress I like that someone got her as a gift. We are co-sleeping, so the room is essentially just a play room currently, but I think it is special to Penny that she has her own special place where anything is possible.
I can't wait to see the rest of Immy's room. I too love the way you grouped her books by color!
That's completely gorgeous Christie! I love the theme of the gold frames and I also love the way you've arranged the books.
Miss M's room was inspired a little by a picture I had seen in a magazine. I knew that I wanted the decor to last further than just being a baby room. I did all of her artwork and have kept it simple and modern, mostly in pink and green. Miss H's room has a red and pale blue theme (my favourite colour combo!). I also did her artwork.
Immy's room is even sweeter than I imagined. And I adore that photo top left
Just gorgeous… LOVING the collection of framed goodies and the colours of the butterflies are lovely!
It's lovely – I'm a bit of a pushover for prints arranged like this.
What a warm and inviting corner. I too love the way you've grouped the pics on the wall!

Gorgeous – I absolutely love it. A thrifted, vintage tea set inspired my girls' room, although I am always adding to it.
Love the wall decor! I just had to comment on the colorizing of her books – it looks like my closet. Christie, I really think you and I 1) may have been separated at birth; and 2) would be great friends if we lived on the same continent.
I really love how tidy it is! It reminds me of when my kids were little and their rooms were nice, bright, colourful and tidy … I also like the nice comfy chair beside the bookcase – inviting.
In addition to my previous comment, I love the butterflies on the wall, it really brightens up the room beautifully.
I LOVE how the books are arranged by color. What a fabulous idea! I never would have thought of that!
Pretty!
Loved the butterfly stickers, and can't wait to see the rest of the room!
Jude's room was inspired by toys we picked up during our travels, as well as nature…
Thank you for all of your comments, I especially loved hearing what inspired your children's rooms.
Dionna – LOL, I often think the same
Vickie, the room is tidy for the photos, I must admit, however we don't keep many toys in Immy's room, she has a playroom for that which makes it easier to maintain.
To everyone who commented on the books, thank you but I can't claim originality for the idea, I think I saw it originally on Ohdeedoh and though it looks great, it isn't that easy to maintain with a toddler who LOVES books! LOL
What a gorgeous little girl in a super special room!
We must work on a similar wavelength: I decorated my first little mans room (now 3.5) with brightly couloured frames filled with gretting cards and wrapping papers, and have gradually changed them to include his art and things he loves.
I also organise books according to colour (in rainbow order of course)
so easy for the kids to put away and looks so pretty.
