Kids Art: More Outlines as Bespoke Art

We were re-arranging the playroom this morning and I realised that the walls looked very bare, mainly as I have been putting off hanging any artwork until we have had a chance to paint the room. I have realised that this is not something which is likely to happen any time soon, so Immy and I got busy creating our very own artwork to brighten up the walls.

I thought a nice big body outline would make short work of a large, blank wall and Immy was happy to oblige so I quickly traced around her and then out came the paints…

Left: Immy starts off painting a rainbow whilst singing a Rainbow Song.
Right: Adding details, a big blue ring just like Grandma’s.

Left: Immy enjoyed painting the first body outline so much that when finished she asked for us to make another. This time she lay on her tummy as I traced.
Right: Adding the finishing touches to her artworks.

The completed artworks hanging in our ‘soon to be’ art area in the playroom…

What have you been creating this week?

  1. Funny you should ask Christie – we did the same thing 🙂 I was going to use it for a post on your We Play Linkup, but now I might have to rethink!

They look great! I have Nates paintings/artwork displayed on a piece of wool strung along the wall using pegs to hang them…looks great might work for your play room

I'd still like to see the paintings your kids created Jenny : )

Immy's paintings look great up on the wall Christie. Hope you had as much fun sorting your playroom/ art room as I did.

The cut outs of your kids look fantastic, I have done these with collaging, but not painting. I never thought to cut out the figures. The scale would be more effective cut out. Great stuff.

You'll never want to redecorate! I let my son hang some pictures up in our bathroom since we are getting ready to remodel it and the walls are really ugly right now. Now I don't want to remodel it. His artwork looks so cheery in there.
