Journey Through a Pregnancy: Week 25

pregnancy journal

Sending virtual hugs across the world this week to a blogging friend Jane, who sadly recently lost her baby boy, Adam, born sleeping at full term. I feel so much grief for Jane and her family, and her loss has been a reminder again to me that nothing about bringing new life into the world is a given. Worry, uncertainty and fear have never been far away for me with this pregnancy and I cannot tell you how much I crave the innocence of that pregnancy joy I remember with Immy. Instead I am just trying to be brave and count each day (and each little kick) as a blessing.

Catch up on our journey so far;

  1. Hang in there Christie!!! I remember that fear well.. take it one day at a time and think positive!

  2. My heart goes out to Jane and her family. What a burden to bear that their baby boy will not live his life alongside them 🙁

    Chrissy, it’s one of the crosses we bear when we know love and risk loss. No – you are right – nothing is a definite in this life. All we can do is appreciate all we have in this very moment. xxxxxx In time (sometimes an incredibly long, painful time), every single thing is a potential blessing. The biggest task is whether we choose to see them that way. Much love to you.

  3. I read Jane’s post and it’s so heart-wrenching indeed. Like you said, nothing is a given and I was a very paranoid pregnant lady with my lil girl. Even the first few months after she was born too..

    Take care and best wishes to you and your current pregnancy! Positive thoughts! 🙂

  4. There is nothing you can do about the fear, let the pregnancy hormones soak you up & keep you calm. I recently posted about all of my pregnancies, i was extremely lucky, appreciated it though, while pregnant with my 4th my sister-in-law had a still born, it was so shocking & heart breaking!! Your poor darling friend, sometimes life seems so terribly unfair & really, what lesson is learned, it’s devestating, why, nothing.
    Wishing you well in your pregnancy, you certainly feel all the aches & pangs more readily with each subequent pregnancy, heat packs & ice packs saved me. I ate sushi while pregnant, made my own. There are very few foods in Australia you can’t eat while pregnant, including soft cheeses. Love Posie

  5. My heart hurts for your friend and that poor baby boy…I understand the emotions you must be experiencing alongside her. When I was pregnant with my second one of my moms club friends was a few weeks ahead of me. She lost her baby girl at 38 weeks, a week before I had my son. It was such a bittersweet birth for me as I couldn’t help but think of her along the way…just remember to hold on even tighter to your beautiful babies!

  6. Oh! I am so so sorry to hear about your friend’s lost.

    (I didn’t know abt your pregnancy, please allow me to congratulate you, what a beautiful news!!)
