Our Play Space: Outdoor Classroom

A peek inside a reader’s play space…

This space is an outdoor screened in porch that I turned into my very own outdoor classroom. Inside this wonderful room is a sand table, easel, window easel, water table, and small tables and chairs for other types of art and play.

Because the outdoor classroom is on a porch, we don’t have to worry about water spills and sand spills because they all go down through the slats and dry up naturally.

A wonderful place to play, learn, and explore!

What a wonderful play and learning space, I wish we had one of these at home and at Immy’s kindy 🙂  Thank you to Deborah of Teach Preschool for sharing with us.

I think it’s just fabulous, but unfortunately I can only think of a couple of places that might have the amount of outdoor space it would take to provide the same sort of facility without interfering with the outdoor Play Area. Not to mention that the amount of days of Summer we get here in Ireland are on a constant decrease.

  2. This is such a fun and inviting play space – we’ve been looking at preschools in the UK for our son and inspired by the ones that I have seen my list was long of requirements and would like it to have/do. But we’ve found one in the middle of the town that has a similar sort of outdoor classroom and an outdoor fun area as well. It’s sharing good practices like this that help other parents realise what is possible
