15 Ways to Have Fun With MUD!

Whether it be a good, old fashioned mix of sand and water or thick and sticky, clay based earth, mud play is a fabulous way to engage children in real, sensory based play and we’ve got 15 awesome ways to get you playing!

1. The first step is creating a mud play space. Don’t despair if you have a small outdoor area or soil that isn’t safe for play as this mud garden solves all of your mud play problems. Now there is no excuse not to play with mud!

2. Make mud pies. Recycle old baking trays to the mud pit to bake in. Add coloured fairy stones, flowers and leaves to decorate.

3. Add sticks, leaves and stones and a few small figurines to mud play for making mud dwellings.

4. Make mud prints with your hands and feet on the pavement. Then have fun hosing it all off once you are finished.

5. Make mud paintings outside with brushes and pots of mud.
