Printable Letter Sound Matching Game

Thanks to a fabulous teacher Miss Five is all about alphabet sounds, letters and words at the moment. In fact, she walks around the house sounding out simple CVC words, identifying the beginning sound of names and objects like a it’s a game, and her attempts at writing are so much fun – featuring lots of meaningful letter-sound representations.

To encourage her interest we are playing lots of  games with letters, sounds and words, including one of her favourites, the BAM learning game – it’s a great game for practising all sorts of learning facts, from times tables to geography facts! To be doubly sure that she has a good grasp of all of the most common sounds that the letters of the alphabet make when in the initial letter position, I created this printable letter sound matching game for beginning sounds (scroll down for access to the free download).

It can be played with a complete alphabet set of any letter tokens – letter beads, alphabet magnets or Scrabble letters – the choice is yours.
