Family Food: Solving Dinnertime Challenges

Today I am excited to announce a new Childhood 101 resource for parents. Developed in collaboration with Kyrstie of A Fresh Legacy, Family Food: The Dinner Edition shares our passion for cooking healthy family meals through delicious, family friendly recipes and supporting helpful hints for mealtimes. Regular readers will know that I am not the world’s most exciting cook so a partnership with a fabulous cook was perfect for me 🙂 I have been test driving recipes from Family Food and if I can do it, anyone can! But Family Food is not just about recipes, it is about solutions for family dinnertime challenges…

Whatever your personal family dinner time challenges, Family Food has a solution for you!

“We eat the same foods over and over again. I have run out of ideas of what to cook!”

“I struggle to find recipes that are enjoyed by all the family…both children and adults.”

“When we get home from work/school/childcare/extra curricular activities, I have little time (or energy!) to get dinner ready. On these days, what we eat needs to be quick and easy.”

“The daily ‘witching hour’ is hard, with tired, cranky kids. Some days I wish that I had been more organised and made dinner at breakfast time!”

Love this idea ladies – as a busy working mum I’m always looking for new and quick ideas.

  3. I’m so excited about this because I need this. I’m not a great cook and our family is quite fussy but these look yum! I can’t wait to check it out!

    1. I am not a great cook either, Penny 😉 Hope you find lots of inspiration in Family Food.

    1. I imagine the Double Up recipes will be really useful for making now and freezing for when bubs comes, Jackie 🙂 Plus the quick and easy recipes are so simple that I am sure you will be able to rope hubby or another family member into prepping dinner in exchange for newborn cuddles!

    Hi there,
I have two issues going on in my home…. I am a vegetarian and my husband does all the cooking. I would like to start being more of the family chef and seriously need help. Are there some vegetarian recipes in here or some that can be adaptable to vegetarian? Thank you.

    1. Hi Catherine, there are quite a number of vegetarian recipes included in the book plus others that could be easily adapted, like the Chicken and Vege Pie – just leave out the chicken and bulk up with more vege 🙂 I am not a great cook either, my hubby did all of the cooking before I was home with the girls and I can follow Kyrstie’s recipes easily.
