Our Play Space: Hiding in the Maple Grove

A peek inside a reader’s play space…

Our maple grove is a special place. In early spring, it is where we gather our maple syrup from metal buckets hanging from the trees. But it is also where we play. We have swings hanging from the maple branches where we can enjoy our beautiful maple grove, swinging and looking up in to the sky and branches. Laughter can often be heard from our hidden, almost-secret place, where we have our special and especially fun family time.

This playground was simple and inexpensive to put up. The children and I did it ourselves. A swing, or two, was added here and there so it wasn’t a huge project to assemble like a large playset. Eco-friendly too. But the very best part is the collection of special memories we are gathering in this beautiful place and the time we spend together.

Thank you to Heather of wordplayhouse.com for sharing her inspiring outdoor playspace with us.

  1. So simple and yet so effective. My daughter aches for a big tree in our back yard. Even if just to build a platform to sit on.

  2. Oh, my. I’ve been only able to check my computer sporadically (camping with no internet), so I was so happily surprised just now to find you chose to feature our maple grove where we swing and play. Thank you so very, very much for including us in your website you fill with so much wonderful educational inspiration.
    Sincerely, Heather
