Our Play Space: The Ever Changing Playroom

A peek inside a reader’s play space…

This is our dramatic play area, my daughter’s physical education room, a block play room, writing center room, this is our fun room! It is a versatile room and I rotate furniture from all around my house into this room. My whole house is a preschool area 🙂

We also have a reading corner, a kitchen corner, a doll diaper changing station and sensory tables. We have a light table for LOTS of fun and science bottles. We have a puppet theater that we use to makes shows or as stores. The magnetic porcelain blackboard is a great addition for my son’s emergence of writing. Our playroom also has a loft bed which we use for our family visiting from Québec.

  1. Nice – I love to look into other peoples play rooms/classrooms!

  2. Thank you Christie for featuring my play room! What’s funny is that it is really an ever changing play room. Nowadays, it looks completely different from all the pictures here. I try to move the things around each 4 to 6 weeks. I think this is what keeps my kids always interested, motivated to play and create 🙂 Thank you! 🙂

  3. Hi from Cairns.
I am newly following you after you were mentioned in the Parenting magazine up here. I love the blog and variety that you have.
I remember as a kid using the upturned furniture and sheets or dooners to transform the lounge into a tent city great fun.
Our family friendly blog also has ideas for kids, please drop by when you have a chance.

  4. Love how many ways to use your furniture you came up with. Could you give me some ideas where to look for the shelf unit and puppet theatre shelf?

  5. It took me a while to decide what brand I would buy and I went with Jonti Craft brand. They have a lifetime warranty that covers any labor or material defect. I had one problem and they sent me a new unit. The puppet theater’s name is Imaginary station-with chalkboard panel. They have flannel, whiteboard or chalkboard panel’s choice. The storage unit is the large size. You can call the Jonti Craft company and ask them the dealers close to your home, but I found that the prices were cheaper on Internet…. Hope this helped both of you Karen and Euan 🙂

  6. Hi there – your play room looks so organized and so tidy and so clean! How do you keep it clean? I am all the way across the world from you, but I still wanted to give you a shout out across the miles of a safe with kids, pets, gentle on hands, biodegradeable cleaner that I use in Canada, is used in the U.S. and is also available in New Zealand and Australia (Met.cash)!!! It is Winning Colours – aka 1000plus stain remover – large and small handy size bottle available at hardware, drugstores and Wal-Marts – good luck – let me know what you think and happy playroom cleaning.
