All wrapped up!

Sometimes I am really organised, and sometimes I’m just….not!

I usually remember the big things but sometimes the little ones get lost in the queue inside my head, where everyone is jostling for position. I am sure most Mums have experienced this feeling at one time or another.

Thankfully, I find there is usually a solution when something gets forgotten. Sometimes you just have to get a little creative in order to find it.

We recently went to a three year old’s birthday party. I had bought the present and thought that I had a roll of nice blue paper at home. Still can’t find where I put that roll of paper, weeks later! It was a Sunday morning (and the shops are CLOSED in Perth on Sundays, come on people!) when I realused that the roll of blue paper was no where to be found. Time to think creatively!

A roll of brown paper, some jungle stickers and a gift tag made from a picture from the Perth Zoo magazine. The perfect wrapping solution for a three year old boy!

I keep a few of my daughter's large paintings in the gift wrapping box. That way I always have handmade wrapping paper ready to go!!

When we were young, mum would use the Sunday's comic page for the wrapping. That is a good idea now but the current newspapers are not as colorful as what I have remembered.

That is very creative! What a good idea.

Great idea! We often use the Sunday funnies as well--they're still fairly colorful. But I love the idea of butcher paper (or even a brown paper bag, cut up for wrapping paper or, if you have a small gift, just use a brown lunch bag as a gift bag) with stickers. Homemade, fun, and the birthday child will have fun trying to get the stickers off and put them all over everything else!

And looks so great too Christie! We went to a party this morning with the gift wrapped in one of Miss M's paintings. Too easy!

I rarely use shop bought wrapping paper. Like Cath, we'll either use a painting or improvise like you! Using stamps (the inky variety) over a large sheet of white paper looks great too :)
