I invite you to light a candle at 7pm this coming Friday, October 15th, as part of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. If everyone lights a candle and keeps it burning for at least one hour, the whole world will be lit in a continuous wave of light burning bright in memory of our angels.
And this weeks small pleasures found online…
:: A simple idea which had somehow previously escaped me and will hopefully help me re-organise our home more effectively and see the end of my hide-y up problem. Give every space a job…
“: the kitchen table is for gathering family and eating meals. Not for dumping papers and toys.
: the entry shelf is for hanging bags and coats and displaying photos and candles. Not for stashing mail.
: my favorite chair is for reading, chatting, relaxing, unwinding in. Not for stacking laundry on.
: the living room is for my family. Chill out about the toys.
When I remind myself of these things, it’s easier to keep it all together and put it all where it goes. Or leave it be.”

:: If you are the parent of a toddler or preschooler, please, please visit this post about children learning to write through play over at Let the Children Play. What did I say when I read it? Yes! Yeah! and Yay! Children learn so much in good quality play based learning environments where they are interested and motivated to learn.
:: Wondering what to do with all of your toddler’s paintings? tiny and little has combines two of my passions, kids art and garlands to make a pretty Child’s Art Paper Garland
:: I have admired this gorgeous Princess and the Pea playset by the very talented Amanda of Treefall Designs for a long time now.
:: If you haven’t done so yet, why not check out the new Kleenex Mums website. A new resource for parents of children aged 2-8 years, I have been asked to contribute, drawing on both my experience as a teacher and a Mum. My first post of suggestions for helping to manage homework time can be found here.
P.S. Following up from last week, the Mulberry and Yoghurt Muffins were YUMMY! Still working up the courage to try making jam!
I would love to hear your top tips for simple organisation at home. What helps to keep you sane?
