I must admit that when I first heard about the KidzaBuzz voucher book for families in Perth, I was a bit skeptical. I was imagining a little raffle ticket book of coupons to use at a few key venues and sightseeing locations, I mean what is there to do in Perth?

I am happy to say that my preconceptions were absolutely and completely wrong. KidzaBuzz is full of vouchers for family friendly venues, activities and services in Perth. It contains more than 390 vouchers divided into 12 categories. There is everything from Aqua Kids to Indoor Play, Birthday Parties to Restaurants and Cafes, Animal Adventures to Getaways. It’s like the Entertainment Book but for families and at just $20, you would only need to redeem one or two vouchers to make this purchase price back.

And best of all, a Perth Mum developed and grew this wonderful resource book.

About Bec

Bec’s story is one very familiar to all mums – I’m at home with a little one, and I’m struggling to think of something for us to do, and I can’t find any info on where to go – help! So, Bec decided to help mum’s just like her by starting KidzaBuzz. Initially with the help of another young mum, they came up with the idea for a voucher book with something for everyone in the family to enjoy. Their goal was to also make it really affordable for young families, and have managed to keep the price at $20 for the past 3 years.

There’s no doubt that starting a business from scratch and bringing up a young family has been a hard road – but Bec has great support around her and is always encouraged by the growing number of families who love the book, and the people who have become loyal advertisers year after year.

Getting families to be active and community minded is another goal that KidzaBuzz are contributing to. There’s nothing better for Bec than being at one of her client’s businesses, and seeing someone redeem a voucher!

In 2010, KidzaBuzz is taking everything it’s learned over the past three years and really making some exciting changes. For the first time, the part proceeds of the sale of every book will go to Telethon. Bec and her husband Glenn can’t wait to get cracking on the new issue, starting now! If you have any feedback about the book, what you’d like to see inside it, where you’d like to buy it or about how to get one, visit the website at www.kidzabuzz.com.au

About Kidzabuzz

KidzaBuzz is a voucher book for the entire family to enjoy, that includes 12 sections of ideas, activities, discounts and event information. The book is published annually and retails for $20. We have many stockists as well as online sales, and it’s become a popular fundraiser for groups and schools as it offers a good return. The feedback we receive about the book is overwhelmingly positive – most people are surprised at how affordable it is, and what great value it represents.

KidzaBuzz is a West Australian, family run business that aims promote active, community focused families, and maximise the potential of the amazing lifestyle we enjoy in our state. The book is filled with ideas on how to entertain the family and is supported by an ever growing number of businesses who offer redeemable vouchers and advertise in the annual publication.

We have received enormous support from the community – including families, businesses, corporates and government agencies – that has allowed us to grow. Now entering our fourth issue and with the benefit of fours years’ experience, KidzaBuzz is set to raise it’s profile with a number of exciting new initiatives starting in early 2010. As we go into 2010 and our fourth edition, we have put a new plan into motion to raise our profile, partner with like minded organisations and make purchasing the book as easy and affordable as possible.

Childhood 101 has five copies of the KidzaBuzz voucher book to give away. If you are based in Perth, Western Australia (or know a family who is), then this is the giveaway for you!

To enter simply leave a comment below telling me what your favourite family friendly activity is. Competition closes Friday, 5th February at midday, Perth, Western Australia time.

Our favourite activity is the Perth Zoo, my 2 girls are 2 1/2 and 8 months so they are free and I have bought a zoo friends membership so after the one initial outlay its now a free day out where we all get some free air and excersize. Having the membership you dont have to rush or see it all in one day. Obviously I love the zoo as I have blabbled on hehe.
Will be interesting to see if I still go in August when I have 3 under 3!!!

This is fantastic. I would love to be able to get some discount vouchers. Hopefully they have some to the Perth Zoo & AQWA as I would really like to take my 2yo boy to them as we STILL have never been.

We love going for a picnic (eating Fish and Chips)in Freo where the kids can run around & play on the playground & topping it off with an ice cream from Cold Rock :)

A few weeks ago we visited Faulkner Park in Belmont. They've fenced off a child friendly play area 'Volcano Park' which our 2 boys loved; it was a free outing :) We also love Whiteman Park which is free and about 7km from our home!

Our favourite 'costly' outing would also have to be the zoo.

We're always looking for fun things to do together.

Great giveaway Christie! This book looks really useful.

There are so many great things to do in Perth, its hard to pick just one. :) We love going to City Beach, playing in the sand, on the playground and finishing with an icecream treat!

One of our favourite outings is going on the train, I loved going to freemanlte to see the old jail.
(Im not in Perth but would love to give it to my friend to use with her son while Daddy is always away working up north) Hopefully at some of the places they will make new friends, and keep a couple to use with me when I come to visit of course.

Like Sunny Road said there are so many great things to do in Perth. Our favourite things to do though, are the zoo and Caversham Wildlife Park. In summer we love the beach, in the cooler weather we love picnicking at Kings Park.

We just like to hang out at the local pools near our home and enjoy a swim followed by a picnic dinner enjoyed under a shady tree outside! A simple outing which brings the family together!

What a great idea! I'm nowhere near Perth so the giveaway won't help me much, but I'd love to see something like this in the US. I'm always offered coupons to fancy restaurants and theaters; not very useful to the parents of three kids who never eat out and only get out together a few times a year. But ideas and reduced admission to family friendly activities? That would be great!

We (I am the oldest our of 3 kids) love to go to fremantle to have coffee and chips and wander around the markets.
In the holidays Mum takes us on the train into perth and we wander around and buy lunch in the food court there. We also love kings park as it is just a beautiful place there! Also coogee beach and woodmen point are great too! There r just sooooo many things to be discovered in WA!

We love Freo too. The park there is fantastic and the markets are interesting too. There are a few family friendly restaurants around there too.

With three boys under 6 I am always on the lookout for outing ideas that are not too costly. Our favourite places to visit are parks. The boys love Whiteman Park and Heathcote for different reasons. They love riding their bikes at Whiteman Park and playing on the great play equipment (which is shaded really well). Heathcote enables their imaginations to run wild. They have a fantastic time playing on the pirate ship play equipment.
For an outings that have admission costs their favouite would be the Beach House in Osborne Park and the Maylands Water Playland.
