We Play: It’s How Kids Learn

When we were preparing for our last trip, Immy asked for her own small, pull along suitcase, which is how this bright blue, martian suitcase became a daily fixture in our play.

We play ‘going on holidays’ A LOT!! On any given day, each room in our house becomes a different person’s holiday house and we go back and forth visiting each other. We pack and unpack, rush to catch buses or trains or planes with ‘tickets’ in hand. Our dining room chairs are often transformed into the aircraft itself, with me as flight attendant and Immy (and her dolls) the passenger. Sometimes we also juggle prams, babies in slings, multiple small ‘children,’ and shopping bags – just as we so often do in real life. It really is a lot of fun and who wouldn’t love to go on holidays every single day???

I apologise that I have not yet visited all of the links from last week. You know how crazy this week is, right? I will try and get to them all today. But if you have a moment, why not leave a comment below telling me what your favourite link from last week was 🙂

Christmas is almost upon us and if that is not the most playful holiday of the year, I don’t know what is! So now it is your turn, what have you been playing this week?

See you back at We Play in 2011! Enjoy a safe and playful holiday xx

My kids have been begging to go on an airplane. I wonder if playing "airplane" would satisfy them for now. My six year old is reading over my shoulder and just informed me that no, it would not be good enough. Ha!

We have so many toy suitcases! Bags and cases are the best toys because they can go shopping, go to school, go to the jungle, ...

Suitcases are cool. I'm going to have to look at getting the girls their own suitcases for all our trips interstate to see my parents. At this stage we still share two big suitcases.

I've got a photo of Heidi somewhere on her first visit to QLD asleep in the suitcase in our hotel room because I was scared she would roll out of the bed.

HI, your blog looks colourful and nice. I had followed you.
Kids are really creative and they can play with whatever their immagination bring them. I have a blog sharing the passion as a mother too, pls feel free to visit it sometimes, thanks.

Thanks for hosting We Play. I love the idea of playing holiday and the imaginative ways you are doing that.

My favorite link from last week was the 10 scents of Christmas. Such a neat idea!

Hi there! Have loved reading along (and occasionally playing along) with We Play over the last couple of months - something I intend to do more regularly next year :-)

There's a little mention of your linky (plas a link) on my post at the moment (as I'm accepting an award from a blogger I met through your game...thx!) - would love for you to pop by and 'meet' me...

    Merry Xmas
