Do you ever come across a project online that you just have to try? Right then?
When I saw this tutorial at Prudent Baby for dress up wings (found thanks to the wonderful Artful Parent – you are all following Jean’s blog, aren’t you?), I knew we just had to make a set of wings. My mother-in-law was visiting and between the two of us (with Immy’s *help*) we managed to whip up a set of rainbow wings in record time.
I made a bit of a variation to the pattern, adding some elastic arm loops instead of the neck ribbon. Immy loves them and so do I (how I dream of an adult sized set of wings all of my very own!)

Oh I love them! Except I can not sew!

Oh! I think Isaw these on pinterest and fell in love, but, like Lori, I don’t sew (or at least, I haven’t in over 20 years, and I barely passed my classes in school!) However, I am hoping that for Christmas, at the latest, I will have my own machine and will be learning. So maybe I will give these a go before Miss 4 gets too old to enjoy them

Tempted to whip up a few sets for my preschool, but I might make some for my own girls first, even though they are on the older side. There is still some room for beautiful dress ups in the 7-9 set.
I just had to make a pair, Jane!
I ended up making two pairs for my girls, who have barely taken them off since.
The other teachers at preschool love them too, but it may be a while before I get around to making some for the preschool.
I’d need 15 pairs of wings – can you whip some up for me? LOL
These are great – dramatic play is such a wonderful part of child development and these would certainly entice hours of play! Cute!

My son declares your wings to be butterfly wings and keeps asking to see them. Thank goodness he hasn’t asked me to make him a pair because I already spent yesterday’s nap making bird wings!
These are priceless. I can see why you would want a pair, too! My daughter would love to have a pair of these. I sew so well by hand, but I am somehow very inept at the sewing machine. I have one, but it kind of scares me and I don’t know where to start. I think it’s going to eat my finger. I am hoping to take some sewing lessons to learn how to use it.
I suppose, of course, these could be made by hand…..
