A peek inside a reader’s play space…
Our family is a big believer in the idea that less is more. We have worked to simplify our home in many ways, and that includes our daughter’s play area. We find that when she has fewer toys available she is more focused in her play. She really takes her time with each toy, experiencing them, enjoying them, and learning from them much more.
In addition, with fewer toys out and available, we are able to put many toys away and have them ready to rotate in every few weeks. It’s like she has a whole closet of new experiences and adventures waiting for her!

Love a minimalist play area. We rotate toys on a regular basis and find it helps encourage our little ladies to focus and concentrate. It is also lovely to be reminded little people don’t need to be swamped in toys to find enjoyment in play.

I love rotating toys for my kids. They get so excited about their “new” toys!
Hindsight is wonderful and one of the few things I wish I could do-over is the amount of toys I allowed/brought into the house. I definitely would have gone with less and invested money into the main toys they played with to death. Lovely space.
What a pretty, clean, peaceful space! I love the green chair and I am a huge fan of baskets!
Love the cart with the baskets! I need something like that. We are good about keeping the toys that are out to a minimum, but storage is not as pretty and organized as yours.
What a beautiful space! I feel like I’m always getting rid of the kids’ surplus of toys and though it seems like a chore, I do believe that less is more, especially with kids! They spend more quality time playing, instead of arguing over toys. Thanks for this post!
