Earth Day Headband Craft for Kids
This Earth Day Headband craft is an easy craft idea for kids who have been learning about Earth Day. It would also make a simple costume addition for an Earth Day assembly or parade.
Earth Day is an international day of awareness highlighting the environmental challenges faced by planet Earth. It is internationally observed as a day of action on April 22nd each year.

Earth Day Headband Craft
The printable document (full download instructions at the bottom of this post) includes three fun Earth Day headband designs each decorated with hand drawn elements and symbols representing the Earth.
How to Make an Earth Day Headband
You will need:
- Printed headband page – printing onto cardstock will make the completed headband stronger
- Scissors
- Clear tape
- Markers, pencils or crayons
1. Once students have selected a headband design, they can color the headband page with markers, pencils or crayons.
2. Cut out the two headband pieces.
3. Use clear cellotape to tape the two pieces of the headband together to form a ring.
Now you are ready to parade your Earth Day hat as an ambassador for this important day!
You could even choose another design to create a headband for a friend or family member.
