Straight out of "Farmer Boy": Hot, buttery popcorn and a glass of milk. I know they ate apples and popcorn and drank cider so as not to disturb the cream separation process of his mother's milk pans, but Almanzo also wished for a glass of milk, says popcorn and milk go perfectly together and talks about an experiment I'd like to replicate one day: putting popcorn (probably needs to be hot air but I might try some with toppings too) into a glass of milk to see if the milk rises because the popcorn's in there. So every time I have popcorn and milk, I think of Almanzo, that I'm doing it for him and wonder if he ever got his popcorn and milk or if he wasn't allowed to disturb Laura's milk pans either.
