In anticipation of the impending arrival of 2020 I had fun creating a printable list of over 120 fun days and holidays from all around the world to celebrate in 2020.

How can I use this list?

Print out a copy via the link below and use it as a tool for creating awareness of global issues and multicultural celebrations from around the world with the children in your class or family.

You can use it;

  • To prompt discussion: ‘Did you know today is…?”
  • To engage your children in researching different countries, religions, cultures and customs: ‘What does the Holi festival celebrate? How do the people of India and Nepal celebrate this special day?’
  • As a springboard for discussion and research about a range of social and environmental issues: ‘Why do you think there is need for a World Rhino Day?’
  • As an invitation to find other days to recognise: ‘Which authors/musicians/artists would you add to this list? Let’s see if we can find their birth dates.”
  • To plan events to celebrate as a family or class group.
