Homemade Fun: Doily Christmas Garland

I know, I know, again with the garland/bunting!!! You know I love it 🙂 This one has to be one of the easiest garlands I have ever made.

Paper doilies dyed with food colouring! You can find my inspiration and some detailed instructions over at Charlotte’s Fancy (found via Lil Magoolie). By the way, if you decide to make one I didn’t dilute my food colouring as I wanted the deeper red and green for Christmas.

I love the way it hangs and sways in the breeze.

Do you hang garland as part of your Christmas decorations?

  1. So pretty… I've been looking for paper doilies lately but can't find them. I have even resorted to saving a couple that were placed under the biscuits we ordered at a cafe recently. Spilled babycino stains and all! We made fairy dresses out of them. But your garland is darling.
Have you made an advent calendar? I'm wondering if I could whip one up now, and if anyone around here would notice if we started on the second!

Sarah, our doilies are from Riot Art. I think they have an online store? We have a store bought advent calendar which I wrote about last Christmas – https://www.childhood101.com/2009/11/ready-for-december.html – and honestly, I don't think the children would mind starting on the 2nd at all 🙂

Love, love, love. I've bought doilies from Riot this year too, but I got the pre coloured ones to use with brown paper for wrapping!
