Toddler Art: Foil & Tissue Paper Collage

Foil and Tissue Paper Collage: Toddler Art

Following the success of our previous tissue paper art, we decided to try something new – coloured tissue paper collage onto alfoil (tinfoil).

As alfoil can be quite delicate and tear easily, I taped it to some watercolour paper with red electrical tape. I diluted a small amount of paper glue (Clag – for those in Australia).

Add lots of coloured tissue paper which we had torn into pieces together beforehand (a great fine motor skill development activity).

The finished piece is beautiful. I even decided that I really liked the electrical tape and chose to leave it as a frame.

That looks like fun! Think the 3yo will particularly enjoy that. He's always looking for excuses to throw some glue around. ๐Ÿ˜‰

We've been painting canvases a bit here. I buy them at the $2 shops and Kmart. Then they can put them up in their room.

Love this idea! I'm going to borrow it to use with my class.

    That came out ace!

We did something similar to this (but add glitter and sequins – my girls were a bit older than yours at the time) ages ago… must remember to do it again.

Immy looks like she's enjoying herself so much and the end product is so colourful. It's fun to mix up textures.

That does look like fun. The frame will help it last longer, too!

Immy did such a great job. My daughter would love to do this as she is a fan of using glue – copious amounts of it! Using tissue paper and alfoil is a great idea.

We are starting to do some crafting for Mother's Day. We have started making some Mother's Day cards for our Grandmothers. I plan to post our creations on my blog very soon.
