Sensory Art Ideas: Rainbow Snake Pots
Making rainbow snake clay pots from sticks of colored modeling clay is a wonderful sensory art activity that also puts developing fine motor control skills to use. It’s a great warm up for handwriting too!
Sensory Art Ideas: Rainbow Snake Pots
To make Rainbow Snake Clay Pots you will need;
- Sticks of rainbow colored modelling clay
Our Modelling Clay Picks (these are Amazon affiliate links):
Instructions;
1. Using your hands, roll each stick of modelling clay into a thin snake.
2. Curl one snake in your choice of color around and around itself to form the base of the pot.
3. Then carefully wind subsequent clay snakes around the outside of the base to form the wall of the pot, starting each new color where the previous one has finished and smoothing the ends of the two snakes together gently.
Enjoy your pretty rainbow snake clay pot!
