What is Childhood 101′s Literacy Spot? It is a weekly reminder of the importance of young children learning playfully as each week I share one idea for playing around with literacy, taken from my many years working as an early childhood teacher. Visit the previous Literacy Spot posts for more fun ideas for playing with literacy.

I have more than a few that I like, but here are just a couple: www.abcand123learning.com - have some free and some paid activities, as well as lots of inspiration and ideas. www.loveandreilly.com.au/articleandextras.html - these ladies are Speech Pathologists who produce classroom resources linking language and literacy. Their articles provide wonderful overviews of the literature and some suggestions about how to put it all into practice. I have used them a lot in parent education programs. www.weteachgroup.com - are an online community of educators and parents who share resources related to learning literacy, numeracy and just about everything else. It's so nice to be able to see how other people teach similar concepts! And of course my site... :-)!! www.playtalklearn.com -
