It’s hot this weekend in Perth. Need a quick and easy idea for family fun on a hot day? Why not make ice cream sundaes or banana splits!

Here are some ice cream sundae ingredient ideas to get your mouth watering…

  • Your favourite ice cream flavours
  • Cream
  • Sprinkles, sprinkles and more sprinkles
  • Bananas
  • Berries – frozen or fresh
  • Marshmellows
  • Flavoured topping – chocolate, caramel, strawberry – or all three!
  • Crushed nuts
  • Wafer biscuits

    My mum used to make great sundaes. She'd put in jelly, custard - layering it with cream on top! She also made great banana splits. We even had the long bowls too.

    I grew up in Perth as well. Moved away in Dec 1995 - but still remember the hot summers, and get back there around that time every now and then.

    Lovely!

    Hot on the other side of the country too, and I'm SO craving ice cream. Hmm... banana splits. Brings back childhood memories.

    It's the middle of winter here and I still think this looks like a good idea, although perhaps with a touch fewer sprinkles!
