118 Days to Celebrate in 2018

To celebrate the new year I have had fun creating a list of 118 fun days to celebrate in 2018.

The printable calendar offers a range of holidays, celebrations and festivals representing many different parts of the world, including days raising awareness for a range of important social and environmental issues, birthdays of some of the world’s greatest authors, artists and musicians, and some just plain fun days.

How can I use this list?

Print out a copy via the link below and use it as a tool for creating awareness of a range of global issues and the multicultural nature of celebrations around the world with the children in your family or class group.

You can use it;

  • To prompt discussion: ‘Did you know today is
  • To engage your children in researching different countries, religions, cultures and customs: ‘What does the Holi festival celebrate? How do the people of India and Nepal celebrate this special day?’
  • As a springboard for discussion and research about a range of social and environmental issues: ‘Why do you think there is need for an International Polar Bear Day?’
  • As an invitation to find other days to recognise: ‘Which authors would you add to this list? Let’s see if we can find their birthdates.”
  • To plan events to celebrate those days that your family or class group might like to recognise and celebrate together.

To download and print:  Click here to download. This will open a twelve page PDF document. Download or save the PDF to your own computer. Open the PDF and print. For durability, print onto matte photo paper or lightweight cardstock. Personal, non commercial use only.
