Christmas M&M Cookie Bars Recipe
If your calendar looks anything like ours, December is looking much like a blur of end of year and Christmas celebrations! Not that it is my social life filling the boxes, it’s all related to the kids school and after school commitments. Of course, many events require us to bring a plate so a great take-a-plate holiday recipe is a must!
When I saw the recipe for Loaded M&M Oreo Cookie Bars on the Averie Cooks blog I was inspired – what a fun and festive plate for a kids event. I made a few tweaks to the recipe and swapped things out to suit our Australian metric measuring system (head over to the original recipe for US measurements).
Cookie Bars Variations
Not only is this recipe great as it is, it is also an easy recipe to experiment with. As long as you keep the base ingredients the same, you can use whatever add ins you like. Don’t like Oreos? Use your favorite icing filled biscuits. Don’t have M&Ms? Use choc bits or chopped cooking chocolate. Or you can add broken pretzels for a salty crunch.
Enjoy!
