Inside: These printable multiplication bookmarks are a handy times tables revision tool.
I’ve got a confession to make. I was really bad at memorising my multiplication tables at school. In fact, I’m still not really great with automatic recall of multiplication facts, even as an adult!
I just don’t have a head for numbers. As a result, I’m pretty committed to helping my kids master their times tables by giving them as many different tools as they need to get that fabulous auto recall happening. We play multiplication games, we sing times tables songs and now we’ve even added a little multiplication twist to reading time!
You see, my big girl loves reading but she doesn’t love reciting times tables so much so I thought that we would combine the two with a little set of multiplication bookmarks that she can carry with her. This way she has whichever set of tables she is learning at her fingertips for a little, timely recall – cheeky, hey!
If you have a child learning their multiplication tables, you might like to print out a set of bookmarks too (full instructions for downloading and printing can be found below). There are two different versions and two styles to choose from.
Firstly, the times tables are represented two different ways – 1×2=2 AND 2×1=2, so you can choose the style that suits the way your child is being taught to say their multiplication tables.
Secondly, you can choose to print the bookmark version which includes a box for your child to write the answer to each equation. If you laminate these before your child uses them, then they can use a whiteboard marker to add the answers and then wipe the answers off to do again – a great practice tool!
