Sometimes it is the little things…like LEGS!

Back in January I was very excited about the first person Immy had drawn. Nowadays, every now and then she comes out with a drawing of a recognisable face, complete with important details like hair and ears…
But today, for the first time ever, we had a face with … LEGS!!!
And now my fridge is full of little drawings of faces with legs 🙂 Oftentimes, it is the little things which make motherhood feel worthwhile. Today for me, it was a pair of legs 🙂

I know, I know....so exciting! I think this is probably one of the most wonderful things. How cute are Immy's people! I keep finding little bodies (drawn by Miss M) all over the house.

I find that it's mostly the little things in life that make us happy and thankful, but in a way little things are big things :)

Love it when they start drawing little sprout people. Remember when both of mine were just starting doing that, too.
So neat to watch them as the develop.
those pictures are keepers, for sure.
    Have a happy weekend,
    Colleen

Congratulations! I love seeing those things develop. My 2-year-old is insistent that I have to draw her "monkeys" all the time (I don't know why they're always monkeys). She can tell me everything that a monkey needs but doesn't really make anything recognizable herself. But every once in a while she's drawing, makes some kind of mark, then stands back an announces something like "Look, Mommy! A snake!"

This post made me smile. I think my husband thinks I'm crazy when I get so excited because we suddenly have a person, legs, and now eyelashes. Eyelashes! I try to keep a trail of these kind of pictures to share with the parents of the kids I work with - an illustration of their development.

My children are now 24, 23 and 18 and I still remember the feelings I felt when they drew their first complete body! In fact I have my youngest daughters picture in a frame on the wall!

I also love to see drawings evolve and change over time and understand your excitement completely. It's great that in the era of digital cameras we can capture every step on the journey to maturity :)
