Spin It! Spelling Worksheet for Any Word List
Just dropping in today with a quick and easy printable spelling word activity that draws on four elements of word study, and that can be used with any word list. It’s a great print-and-go spelling activity for elementary/primary grades.
To complete the activity, children write a spelling word in the top section of the box and then spin the spinner included at the bottom of the page to find their Spin It! word. The Spin It! word will be either;
- a word that rhymes with the spelling word,
- an antonym for the word,
- synonym for the word,
- or the plural form of the spelling word.
The Spin It! word is written in the bottom section of the box.
To form the simple DIY spinner, students simply use the tip of a pencil or pen and a paper clip. All it takes is a flick of the paper clip to Spin It! and spell.
The downloadable PDF file (instructions for download below) includes both a colour and a black and white version of the spelling sheet.

Printing Your Spin It! Spelling Word Activity
Click here to download >> Spin It Spelling Worksheet . Save the PDF to your own computer. Open the PDF and print the page you require. When printing, select “Fit to printable area” (or similar) to ensure the page fits with your printer type and local paper size (these have been created at A4 size).
