My kids love playing board games, and it’s only natural that our favourite family board games have changed over the years as our kids have grown. I love adding a game or two to our collection each Christmas as I think board games are fabulous for teaching children all sorts of awesome skills and behaviours – everything from learning to take turns and be a good winner and loser, to learning to use problem solving and strategic thinking skills as they play.
Today I am sharing a great big list of family board games. It includes our family favourites, plus some from my years as a teacher working with children of all ages, and there are also suggestions from some of the wonderful parents and teachers who hang out on the Childhood 101 Facebook page. There are board game suggestions for families with bigger kids, and younger ones too. And this is list complements our list of family card games perfectly. Be sure to check that one out too!
