Engaging students in learning about world holidays is a fabulous way to help children expand their cultural understanding of the world. Through this exposure children gain greater respect for and acceptance of different cultures, and develop empathy for other people and their ideas, and a carefully planned program of learning activities can help students to see that no matter our differences, we also have much in common with people from different cultures.
